This movie gives a unusual angle on Pre - WW2 German society. The title's 'Swing Kids' are German youngsters who were involved in British and American slag & fashions. Since Germany's official policy towards America & Britain wasn't very sympathetic at the time (to say the least), Swing hangouts were routinely searched for by HJ's ("Hitler Junged" - Hilter's Youths), Swing Kids were targeted by them, and Swing music was hard to glean.

The movie's three main characters are caught in the struggle between Swing music and the pressureto join the HJ's. Arvid, who is partially paralized, and is therefore 'unacceptable' by the Nazis, is a rabid Swing fan (which a expansive piece of is a rebellion against the people who won't obtain him) . Peter is struggling with his father's 'disappearance' (he was taken by the Nazis a few years before the events of the movie) . Thomas is impartial looking for acceptance, which he doesn't seem to bag from his family or friends, so he willingly turns into a HJ - impartial to satisfy his need. I suppose 11th grade and when we near WWII I have been looking for a movie which is expedient enough for the kids to look that doesn't unbiased demonstrate blood and guts. Many of the kids can't fathom why an entire nation would honest follow a man twisted on the destruction of another rush. This movie gives them a original viewpoint, a kid's viewpoint, that they can portray to. They can understand that not everyone wanted to go along, not everyone agreed but few were great of standing up and sticking to their beliefs. The brainwashing techniques, the pressure from peers, family and awe made it easier for Hitler to acquire and beget control of Germany. I commence WWII with a brief explanation of the conditions existing in Europe when Hitler rose to power and then indicate this movie. My students always indulge in the movie and near away from viewing it with a better idea of how Hitler got into power. I highly recommend this film for teaching and/or objective enjoying.

The Shield may be lamentably gone from TV, but prominent alumnus Kurt Sutter seems to have taken it upon himself to carry on its legacy with Sons of Anarchy, and if the show's first season is any indication he's more than up to the task. Anyone who enjoyed The Shield's combination of intelligence and testosterone will certainly acquire a lot to like here, as SoA speedy established itself as among TV's most modern and consistently compelling shows and only got better from there. Striking a near-perfect balance between grit and sensationalism, it takes viewers through a world marked by violence, double-dealing, and racial division, with an emphasis on the ambiguous morality and personal and familial baggage that arrive with a life lived between the straight world and the criminal one. The machinations of the characters and the twists of the set are almost operatic, but the note remains rooted in the harsh realities of gangland.

The premise is sort of Hamlet-meets-the-Sopranos: youthful biker and unique dad Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam) finds himself trying to balance work with personal life as the Vice President of the Sons of Anarchy Motorcylcle Club Redwood New (aka SAMCRO), a gun-running biker gang co-founded by his behind father and now bustle by his stepfather Clay Morrow (the ever-swaggering Ron Perlman), who's married to Clay's widowed mother Gemma (Katey Sagal, in comely remarkable the biggest departure possible from her Married With Children days) . From the somewhat hippie-ish beginnings envisioned by Jax's father, SAMCRO has evolved into a criminal powerhouse, especially in their central California gross of Charming, where they're practically a small-town Mafia. Clay's a classic antihero in the Tony Soprano-Vic Mackey mold, whose occasional moments of decency don't quite compensate for his myriad of unpleasant acts, but he's practically a softie compared to his wife. Taking the thought of standing by her men very seriously, Gemma's the very narrate of steely determination, willing to say and do anything to safeguard her family, and she shares both Clay's ability to contemplate all the angles and his lack of reservations in doing what needs to be done.

The voice-over narration of John's journal is a bit of a contrived plan in a expose largely devoid of them, but it does nicely frame the struggles that reach to interpret the season. This season also sees a succession of titanic supporting turns from recognizable faces--Jay Karnes as a hooked ATF agent with a thing for Jax's ex, Mitch Pileggi as a vicious Nazi meth lord, Ally Walker as an enjoyably amoral Fed who vows to win the Sons down--that only befriend to up the entertainment quotient. Even the law-enforcement officers--the shady, compromised Chief Unser and the more principled, by-the-book Deputy Chief Hale--eventually emerge as multi-dimensional characters in their occupy true.

Overall, it's extremely difficult to rep fault with this season. SoA seems to have flown under the radar a bit while shows like Aroused Men and Breaking Unpleasant salvage all the acclaim, and while those are both colossal shows I contemplate SoA easily holds its enjoy as one of the best on TV fair now. If it maintains its level of quality in season two, we viewers could have yet another all-time enormous on our hands.
Fantastic note and Astronomical extras on the DVD! Always like it when a DVD area includes extras. Includes deleted scenes, a gag reel, films about the tattoos, the motorcycle customization, casting decisions yarn including the unusual audition tapes for all the cast. Also includes some audio commentaries.

All in all, a big DVD residence and that's not to mention the exhibit itself. Charlie Hunnam steals every scene he is in. He is electrifying, vibrant and SO talented. You can't grasp your eyes off watching him every moment he is on the cloak.

The expose is fantastically written but even better is watching Hunnam interact, especially with his girlfriend--wow, their scenes are hot! Some actors are unprejudiced really spirited to notice, they can do more with a study or a word than others do with entire lines. Hunnam is one of these.

His character is the vice-president of the Sons of Anarchy but his intelligence, questioning of the spot quo and determination to stick to his beliefs means he is in conflict with those in the club who either have no morals, easily leave them unhurried or only care about money.

Hunnam is tantalizing to behold, in one scene he is emotional or tender to his girlfriend or family, then the next he is violently asserting his will in clashes where he defends his principles or makes a point.

There is an animated tension showing his desire to be unprejudiced in the world, yet his need to be duplicitous, because of gun-running or other illegal activities.

The scene where he finds a gawker sitting on his bike, and is pretending to be helpful then beats the guy to the ground, telling him "Don't EVER sit on another man's bike!" is an illustration of this.

There is a stillness to Hunnam's portrayal which brings so worthy interest to the character. Instead of going on and on about something, he'll unbiased say "Are you ready for this? " and with a short sentence and a leer, will say everything.

The audio commentaries are really laughable too. There's one scene where they reveal Hunnam with his shirt off and the show's creator says "This is one for the ladies!" and he is so fair.

All in all, this DVD is well worth buying and keeping, not unprejudiced a rental.

Katie holmes plays Sam who is this girl who is struggling to try to be normal,the only quandary is her dad is the president. She goes to college thinking she is going to have a normal life when people follow her and there is always agents there. She goes to rep together unbiased to gain her herself in the newspaper the next day. Then the next time she goes to a party some people to catch her attention, and one of them brings out a squirtgun and she is pulled out of the party and taken to her dads office in her bathing suit. Thats when she says some thangs to her dad and her dad backs off on security guards or so she view. James the guy she falls in cherish with is a security guard and she finds that out when some things go defective. Can there be any hope for her and James to be together or for her life to be normal? Look the movie and catch out. I can guarantee you wont be dissapointed.

This movie is colossal! I esteem Katie Holmes' character. It is about a girl (Katie) who's dad is the president, and she has to adapt to being the "president's daughter" (First Daughter) . She is going off to college, and wants to fit in. She does some crazy stunts, and her dad drops in the polls. She then has to choose between her crazy recent lifestyle, or her father. A Sizable MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw this 'documentary' when it originally aired on Sci-Fi Channel as a special promo for the movie Village. It's not a documentary in any sense of the word, it's a 'mystery' that attempts to effect a mystical trek on the life of filmmaker Shyamalan. What it is, is a lousy TV special that is overly long and is a abominable Blair Witch-like ripoff.

There is very exiguous hide time with Shyamalan, and what is there is mostly garbage. None of this is really about Shyamalan. It's completely fictional. If the people being interviewed in here are really Shyamalan's friends and not actors I would be surprised. Don't even bother with this DVD.

Yes it is very likely a promo for the upcoming Night's film at the time. It is nevertheless sterling entertainment. Scarier than all of Night's films. If Night had been the accurate director of the documentary, I would say it was the best work he had done as a fear film director. The sketched portrait of "Henry", Night's supposed ghost friend, was really disturbing and shrinking me for a very long time. Again, it is superb entertainment, if you don't rep too hung up on whether it is fiction disguised as a documentary and that it was the means to bag more publicity for Night.

In a nutshell, the first two seasons were absolutely hystical with a few sketches that weren't as droll as the others (your not going to hit a homerun every single time) that honest left classic moments in TV & pop culture history to the point where it revived the music career of a tale in Rick James with one catchphrase (I'M RICK JAMES B....) & helped another actor in Wayne Brady fracture out of the sterotypical roles he's been typecasted in throughout his career ("Is Wayne Brady gonna have to choke a b....? ") . Dave along with his cast like the always overlooked Charlie Murphy, fable Paul Mooney, and Donnell Rawlings unbiased brought forth a bunch of situations that people don't normally accumulate droll but unprejudiced made you almost pee on yourself laughing. It's been years since the note started & so many memorable moments are collected in my head like it was yesterday. It's the funniest demonstrate of this nature since "In Living Color" that pushed the boundries with it's spoofs of issues in modern news stories (R. Kelly....need I say more? ), pop culture (Exasperated Precise World) & issues we deal with daily like racism (Clayton Bigsby) & sterotypes (Trading Places) ...and unbiased having skits around to give us a apt laugh (The Player Haters Ball & Tryone) . The first two seasons were fair comedic gold to me. The DVD extras with the deleted scenes/outtakes on both sets with alternative commentary along with the bonus standup, extra Charlie Murphy stories, and extended interviews from both Rick James & Charlie Murphy on disc two are an added & welcomed bonus.

I can't say the same for the third or "lost season" & I unbiased couldn't fill that this is the same demonstrate that had me laughing, caught the attention of america, and everything else I mentioned earlier. These were "lost" episodes & honestly should have stayed lost because this season was bad. The only skits that had me laughing was the one about 2pac not being alive but having a song talking about everyone currently in that club & the one where everyone started charging Dave more money for things since they found out how worthy money he makes. They did display the controversal "pixie" sketch which I wasn't offended by because I couldn't score past how unfunny it was. The only thing that somewhat kept the shows watchable more than once is the audio commentary from Charlie, Donnell, and Niel (can't remember his last name proper now) .

In the raze, season one & two are worth this area but season three will be seen as a astronomical disappointment so if you can gather seasons one & two cheaper than this box position, I would do that. Otherwise, everything about the first two seasons heavily overshadow the "lost episodes" so I would recommend overall under those conditions.

Great box. Unbiased one minor thing there are no English subtitles. I am from The Netherlands and not a English native speaker so I really like it when a dvd has subtitles. I didn't know before purchasing so hold this in mind when you order!

Other then that it's a enormous box, gargantuan quality and already had lot's of fun with friends watching it. WHAT? OKAY!

"Jumped the Shark" is a saying coined from the mature Gay Days point to. When Arthur Fonzarelli jumped a shark wearing his trademark leather jacket, it was a notice that the exhibit had hasten out of ideas and had turned to lunacy. First I should say that I am a CSI Miami and David Caruso (Horatio Caine) fan. I thoroughly enjoyed Season 6 with the Brazilian twist. Who can forgot Caine shooting it up in Rio, and his one liner "That's how we do it in Miami." Chilly stuff.

Unfortunately, something went terribly unfavorable in Season 7. The stories are not well written, the character's lines are awkward and simplistic, and things turn a bit pointless. I do not blame the actors, since clearly they have proven themselves kindly of greater things. It is quite simply the writers... time to desirable house and salvage some modern talent. Or perhaps this was already done, and the current talent is simply lacking. Whatever the reason, Season 7 is not up the standards of previous seasons. One specific complaint I have is why does everyone have to be under 25 and comely? The fresh medical examiner looks barely frail enough to drive, let alone head up a major city's crime lab's medical lab. It is quiet heavenly gape candy... impossibly sparkling sets, well dressed models doing the acting thing, things going philosophize, and lots of Caine's one liners. So it can composed be a fun display. Unbiased don't ask too noteworthy from this one.

What an exciting season! In the very first episode of the season, we get out who wants Horatio Caine (David Caruso) dumb and in the final episode, Eric Delko (Adam Rodriguez) has disappeared with his devious father. Both Horatio's son Kyle (Evan Ellingson) and Eric accept thrown into jail,a unusual coroner named Dr. Tara Imprint (Megalyn Echikunwoke) turns out to have an addiction to Oxycodone afflict killer pills, Eric and Calleigh Duquesne have a heavenly relationship with each other, Yelina Salas (Sofia Milos) returns undercover, Horatio's mortal enemy Ron Saris (Kim Coates) turns out to be married to Horatio's ex Julia Winston (Elizabeth Berkley), Natalia Boa Vista (Eva La Rue) was lucky enough this season to not have so remarkable of the drama focused on her, and Ryan Wolfe (Jonathan Togo) was forced to betray his team within the entire season's swirl and hinting of the Russian Mob's constant tabs on the team's every go. The crimes have become more though-provoking from a con man who tricked married women into sexual relations for their money, a man who cannot remember how he could have killed an entire family, and search for the world of uncouth plastic surgery. Season Seven has proved itself to be one of the best seasons yet to gawk and I would definitely recommend it over the tiring, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation Season Nine. Don't miss a second of this hard-hitting drama with non-stop action in each episode. Episodes I recommend are: Episode 1 "Resurrection" in where Horatio has been supposedly shot, Episode 10 "The DeLuca Motel" where a shooter targets the status where Eric is staying at, Episode 20 "Wolfe In Sheep's Clothing" where Ryan is forced to betray the team by altering evidence in a case, Episode 24 "Dissolved" where Julia spins out of control and Dr. Effect is fired, and Episode 25 "Seeing Red" where Eric finds out about his father's involvement in a unique case and disappears to aid him out.

The skits are very droll, but I view since it was a unusual DVD release that it was modern material. It's not. The shows are over 10 years worn. But it is hilarious.

I bought this DVD mainly for Mitch Hedberg, but it's a perfect mix of different comics. You find eight comics for a half hour each. What a deal! My family has watched it three times already. I highly recommend this DVD if you bask in watching stand-up.

For the myriads of fans of the book, Kindly News! Author Louis Sacher did the hide adaptation, and Director Andrew Davis did an gracious job in creating the mood, leading his pleasing cast of young actors, and being faithful to the spirit and actuality of the book.

Stanley Yelnats IV (Shia LaBouf), is a hard-luck boy, not surprising seeing his great-great grandpa had a curse laid on him for eternity by Madam Zeroni (Eartha Kitt) . The Yelnats have had a habit of failure ever since. Stanley's Dad, (Henry Winkler) is working (unsuccessfully, of course) on inventing a perfect shoe-deodorizer. Ironically, Stanley is falsely arrested for stealing a mammoth athlete's shoes. He is given a choice of jail or Camp Green Lake. Stanley innocently notes he's never been to camp before so---you unprejudiced know This Was Not A Grand Choice. Camp Green Lake is on a parched and barren desert. The lake disappeared a century before. Stanley is indoctrinated by down-and-dirty terrible Mr. Sir (Jon Voight) who informs Stanley his days will be spent digging 5' x 5' holes to produce "character" and any misstep will bring him to the Warden's (Sigourney Weaver) attention, a lady who coats her nails with rattlesnake venom.

His fellow inmates who like to be known as X-Ray, Armpit, Crooked and Magnet greet Stanley with hazing and hard times. His only lawful ally is cramped itsy-bitsy Zero (Khleo Castro) who wants Stanley to yelp him to read. The day-in-day-out work is filthy, backbreaking and endless. But Stanley is learning some secrets that might permit him to demolish the age-old curse of the Yelnats.

Mr. Davis tells us Stanley and Camp Green Lake's history via flashbacks, and for the most piece does a safe job keeping the record attractive, though it might be overly complex for younger viewers. Jon Voight is priceless as thoroughly poor, gimlet-eyed, bone unimaginative Mr. Sir. Sigourney Weaver is fair scared of psychotic with her barely repressed rage at her area. So when they introduced the movie, I was quite fervent. Portion of me was hopeful it would turn out well, the other allotment of me was skeptical that it would be anywhere arrive as expedient as the book. However, my fears were dashed. This movie was Amazing!

The yarn jumps benefit and forth a slight between three different tales -- the sage of Elya Yelnats, the main character's "no capable, dirty-rotten, pig-stealing great-great-grandfather"; the anecdote of Stanley Yelnats IV himself; and the sage of a legendary outlaw, Kissing Kate Barlow. The three stories are interwoven quite ingeniously. In some cases, you aren't completely certain what the connection will be, but then when you procure out, it fits perfectly.

The yarn IS slightly altered, of course, as most books-brought-to-movies tend to be. But it very mighty keeps the spirit of the recent book. The boys are very believable -- I especially appreciate Zero! Sigourney Weaver makes a wonderfully rank warden. And John Voigt does a astonishing insane portrayal of Mr. Sir.

This movie will retain you laughing and bewitching throughout. And if you enjoyed the book, you'll like this film!

A couple of years ago, I never opinion about buying this series, but having the chance to engage the perfect collection seemed to noble to pass up. I gave this series a shot, and what can I say about it? Extraordinary!

This series has almost everything in it, action, adventure, some mystery, comedy, and even romance. Blue Seed shouldn't be underestimated for being an older anime, since it came out in 1995, and was later released by ADV Films in 1997. I really enjoyed going through the 26 evenly passed episodes, the characters were amazing and memorable, and the ending fits the series well. There isn't alot left hanging, which means this series comes to a satisfying conclusion. The characters are really likable, especially the relationship between Momiji(The heroine), and Kusanagi(...) . Momiji is the clumsy but dauntless girl(Unlike other magical girls), while Kusanagi is the hero who comes to do the day,(...) . One cannot wait on but laugh when he peeps at Momiji's pantys under her skirt, one can come by a reliable kick out of that.

If you are an anime fan who has expedient taste, then obtain Blue Seed when you can, you won't regret it.

After only having the first three tapes, I decided I was going to gather the DVDs. Budget was always a anguish until I found this boxed space...

The series is about a petite, secret government organization that protects Japan from a hurry of mythological plant-based creatures called Aragami. Momiji is the only one who can protect Japan because of her family's bloodline. Kusanagi was created to protect Momiji and her sister Kaede. However, Kusanagi wants to be free of that and is more fervent in trying to slay Momiji. He expeditiously returns to the role of protector within the first few episodes (out of 26) .

I found the series to be very toothsome, and it seems to borrow elements from the movie, Green Sage Ran. I can't really compose a comparison without a risk of revealing the endings of both. The styles are somewhat different so I can't promise that if you be pleased one, you'll like the other. You might regain the stories fascinating though.

I did experience some technical issues with the DVDs. If I chose Japanese with English subtitles, the settings would reset wait on to English dubbed with no subtitles at the beginning of the next episode. I also had a scrape on the 3rd DVD. After the 3rd episode, one of the Omake Theaters appeared. When it finished, I was taken to the Extras menu instead of the next episode. However, if I simply skip ahead to the next chapter terminate, it does acquire me to the next episode like it should. I usually skip the opening and closing titles after I've seen them several times (especially when watching all episodes straight through) so this isn't a major exertion.

If you consume the dubbed version, this is a grand DVD edition. Many of the usual ADV allege actors are here. Some you may peer from Evangelion or Gunsmith Cats. Amanda Winn does the English impart of Momiji. (Amanda was Rally Vincent in Gunsmith Cats.) Tiffany Grant's Kome is not her best performance. Tiffany Grant seems to be known best for Asuka in Evangelion. She also provided the say for Becky in the dubbed version of Gunsmith Cats and Chocolat in Sorcerer Hunters.

If you catch subtitles, you can only hope the jam was with my DVD player. Resetting things to Japanese with English subtitles after each episode could salvage frustrating. I have not checked to recognize if selecting Spanish was any different.
